Carugate dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Alghero's 26. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Carugate made 8 blocks. It was a very good performance for Lithuanian power forward Laura Zelnyte (190-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The former international center Valentina Fabbri (196-85) contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Carugate's coach Andrea Piccinelli felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Sara Azzellini (170-86) answered with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Bulgarian guard Veronika Djikova (179-90) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Alghero.
