Regular Season Round 1: Quebradillas - Ponce 62-82

Date: May 7, 2018
The game between Piratas (1-1) and Leones (1-1) in Quebradillas on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Juana Diaz outscored Piratas 82-62. The game without a history. Leones led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a very good performance for American forward Michael Young (206-94, college: Pittsburgh) who helped to win the game recording 23 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Gabriel Belardo (188-89, college: FIU) contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Leones players scored in double figures. The former international Michael Rosario (190-90, college: Florida) answered with 11 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) added 12 points in the effort for Piratas. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leones will face Capitanes in Arecibo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Piratas will play on the road against Vaqueros in Bayamon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
