Regular Season Round 32: Charleville - Lille 73-76

Eighteenth-ranked Charleville-Mezieres (6-26) used its home court advantage to challenge sixth ranked Lille Metropole (21-11). The visitors from Lille managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as Charleville-Mezieres took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lille Metropole had a 20-12 second period charge getting the lead and Charleville-Mezieres was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-76. The best player for the winners was American forward Rakeem Buckles (203-90, college: FIU) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Nigerian-American power forward Cory Remekun (203-91, college: St.Louis, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Lille Metropole players scored in double figures. Swingman Lucas Dussoulier (203-96) produced 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Alexandre Moisy (175-95) added 14 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Lille Metropole moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Saint-Chamond. Charleville-Mezieres lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Lille Metropole's next round opponent will be Sluc Nancy (#7) at home. Charleville-Mezieres will play against Nantes (#14) and hope to win that game.
