Semi-Finals Game 1: VEF Riga - Jurmala 91-74

VEF Riga cruised past Jurmala for the opening win in the series. The game without a history. VEF Riga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international center Ilja Gromovs (208-94) fired 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International forward Mareks Mejeris (207-91, agency: Players Group) chipped in 15 points. Four VEF Riga players scored in double figures. The former international guard Haralds Karlis (198-91, college: Seton Hall) produced 9 points and 5 assists and point guard Kristaps Plavnieks (183-95) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
