Very expected game in Bayamon where Piratas (1-2) were defeated by Vaqueros (3-0) 105-91 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 105-91. Vaqueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Ricky Ledo (201-92, college: Providence) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Vaqueros' coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) responded with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the former international Michael Rosario (190-90, college: Florida) scored 22 points. Five Vaqueros and four Piratas players scored in double figures. Vaqueros will face Capitanes (#5) in Arecibo in the next round. Piratas will play at home against Atleticos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
