Thirteenth-ranked Koroivos (7-18) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked Kymis (14-11). Kymis managed to secure only two-point victory 62-60. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 19-9 Koroivos' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 62-60 at the end of the game. American guard Thaddus McFadden (188-87, college: Fairmont St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) stepped up and scored 10 points and 5 assists for the winners and naturalized French Angelo Tsagarakis (191-84) chipped in 11 points. At the losing side American guard Marcus Posley (185-94, college: St.Bonaventure) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jahii Carson (178-92, college: Arizona St.) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Kymis. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with AEK and Lavrio. Koroivos lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Panionios. Kymis will play against AEK (#5) in Athens in the next round. Koroivos will play at home against Aiolos Trikallon (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
