Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Eagles (5-8) were edged by sixth ranked Stirling S. (7-5) in Morley 94-91 on Saturday. Stirling S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Eagles were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Nigerian-American forward Robert Anshila (199-86, college: Ft.Hays State) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Cody Ellis (202-90, college: St.Louis) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Anshila attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. American power forward Jonathan Morse (203-91, college: Metro St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 blocks and swingman Drew Williamson (196-83, college: Metro St.) added 28 points in the effort for Eagles. Four Stirling S. and five Eagles players scored in double figures. Eagles' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Stirling S. moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Eagles dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Stirling S. will face Slammers (#12) in Bunbury in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eagles will play at home against Cougars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
