Date: May 13, 2018
San Lorenzo fired past Penarol to seal their next round berth. San Lorenzo shot 61.8 percent from the field. San Lorenzo outrebounded Penarol 37-23 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The winners were led by international forward Gabriel Deck (199-95) who scored that evening 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and international point guard Nicolas Aguirre (188-88) supported him with 16 points and 11 assists. Even 15 points and 5 assists by American guard Todd Brown (196-87, college: Wright St.) did not help to save the game for Penarol. The former international Diego Guaita (203-83) added 19 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for lost side. Five San Lorenzo and four Penarol players scored in double figures.
