Umana Venezia ensured the winning start to their playoff campaign as they edged Vanoli Cremona. Umana Venezia outrebounded Vanoli Cremona 40-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Croatian forward Hrvoje Peric (203-85) stepped up and scored 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and Greek-American swingman Michael Bramos (196-87, college: Miami, OH) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Umana Venezia's coach Walter De Raffaele used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
