Melilla upset Castello on the road to advance into the semifinal stage. The guests were already 12 points ahead at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 17-11 last quarter charge of Castello cut the lead to 73-66 at the end of the game. Melilla Baloncesto made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Daniel Rodriguez (182-84) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Naturalized Senegalese power forward Mamadou Samb (210-89) contributed with 8 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Melilla Baloncesto's coach Alejandro Alcoba allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Congolese forward Charles Nkaloulou (199-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and naturalized Dominican power forward Juan-Jose Garcia (201-89, agency: Duran International) added 17 points in the effort for Castello.
