Regular Season Round 31: Hapoel Eilat - Maccabi Ashdod 82-76

The game between third ranked Maccabi Ashdod (19-12) and seventh ranked Hapoel Eilat (16-15) was the most important one in the last round on Monday night. Maccabi Ashdod was defeated by Hapoel Eilat in a tough game in Eilat 76-82. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 41-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Hapoel Eilat made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Jordan Loyd (193-93, college: Indianapolis) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side international forward Nimrod Levi (208-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international swingman Adam Ariel (192-94, agency: Avi Zilberman) scored 14 points. Four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Hapoel Eilat moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Galil Gilboa. Maccabi Ashdod at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost. They share it with Hapoel J-M. Hapoel Eilat is looking forward to face higher ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Ironi Nahariya and is hoping to win this game.
