There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan (8-16) beat at home higher ranked Aguilas Doradas de Durango (13-11) 108-97 on Wednesday. Lobos UAD Mazatlan made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Lobos UAD Mazatlan outrebounded Aguilas Doradas de Durango 30-16. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American forward Carl Hall (202-89, college: Wichita St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) contributed with 28 points and 7 assists for the winners. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American point guard Jeffery Stubbs (189-91, college: Jackson St.) replied with 18 points and 9 assists and his fellow American import forward Will Carter (200-88, college: San Jose St., agency: HMS) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Aguilas Doradas de Durango. Four Lobos UAD Mazatlan and five Aguilas Doradas de Durango players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lobos UAD Mazatlan have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position with 8-16 record. Loser Aguilas Doradas de Durango keeps the fourth place with 11 games lost.
