Regular Season Round 11: Melbourne T. - BA CoE 97-81

There was a minor upset in Melbourne where second-ranked BA CoE (6-4) was defeated by fourth ranked Tigers (6-3) 97-81 on Saturday. Tigers forced 19 BA CoE turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 63.0 percentage. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for guard Tom Wilson (195-97, college: SMU) who led his team to a victory scoring 40 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Dexter Kernich-Drew (198-91, college: Washington St.) helped adding 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Swingman Alexander Mudronja (193-99) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Daniel Grida (195) scored 19 points. Four BA CoE players scored in double figures. BA CoE's coach Adam Caporn tested twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Tigers maintains fourth place in League with 6-3 record. Loser BA CoE dropped to the third position with four games lost. Tigers will face Sabres (#7) in Cheltenham in the next round. BA CoE will play at home against Frankston Blues (#8) and hope to win that game.
