Kumamoto snatched a narrow victory over Toyotsu in the Bronze medals series opener. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 41-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Kumamoto V. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Toyotsu FE helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Kohei Fukuzawa (177-93) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Toyotsu FE. Four Toyotsu FE players scored in double figures. Toyotsu FE's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
