Finals Game 1: Bourges - Tarbes 86-66

Bourges cruised past Tarbes in LFB Finals opener. The game was mostly controlled by Bourges. Tarbes managed to win third quarter 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Bourges forced 25 Tarbes turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Tarbes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Valerianne Ayayi (184-94) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 5 rebounds. Canadian forward Katherine Plouffe (190-92, college: Marquette) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Bourges' coach Olivier Lafargue used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Aby Gaye (195-95) answered with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Spanish point guard Ana Suarez (170-87, agency: ProDep Management) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Tarbes. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
