Regular Season Round 12: Rockhampton C. - Gladstone PCP 107-67

Everything went according to plan in Rockhampton where eighth ranked Cyclones (3-2) outscored 13th ranked Power (1-4) 107-67 on Friday. Cyclones dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Power's 22. Cyclones forced 26 Power turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Power's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Cyclones made 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American Shanavia Dowdell (188-87, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds (on 17-of-19 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Aaryn Ellenberg (170-92, college: Oklahoma) who added 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Cyclones' coach felt very confident using 11 players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was New Zealand power forward Ashleigh Kelman-Poto (186-91, college: East Central) with 16 points and 9 rebounds and New Zealand forward Milomilo Nanai (173-92) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Power players scored in double figures. Cyclones moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Power keeps the thirteenth position with four games lost. Cyclones will face Meteorettes (#6) in Mackay in the next round. Power will play at home against Brisbane Spartans (#8) and hope to win that game.
