Not a big story in a game in Joondalup where 12th ranked Magic (4-9) was outplayed by first ranked Wanneroo (13-2) 107-75 on Saturday. Wanneroo made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 27 Magic turnovers. Strangely Magic outrebounded Wanneroo 41-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Magic's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Brian Sullivan (180-93, college: Davidson) who scored 16 points, 9 assists and 5 steals. Naturalized Greek guard Trian Iliadis (190-89, college: ODU) chipped in 19 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Five Wanneroo players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Chudier Pal (205-91, college: NC-Asheville) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds and American swingman Jamal Shabazz (198-94, college: Samford) added 21 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Wanneroo maintains first position in League with 13-2 record. Loser Magic keeps the twelfth place with nine games lost. Wanneroo will face Senators (#4) in Perth in the next round. Magic will play at home against Slammers (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
