Very important is a road loss of third ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (16-13) against fifth ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (16-13) on Tuesday night. Visiting Rayos de Hermosillo was crushed by Caballeros de Culiacan in Culiacan 112-88. Caballeros de Culiacan outrebounded Rayos de Hermosillo 49-36 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Rayos de Hermosillo's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Caballeros de Culiacan made 7 blocks. The game was also dominated by American players. Guard Bruce Massey (190-90, college: Middle Tenn.St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and forward DuVaughn Maxwell (201-91, college: Hampton) chipped in 25 points and 7 rebounds.
