Regular Season Round 9: Quebradillas - Humacao 96-94

Important game to mention about took place in Quebradillas. Third ranked Piratas (8-5) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Humacao (5-6) 96-94 on Tuesday evening. Piratas players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and the former international swingman Alejandro Carmona (194-83, agency: Basket Management Solutions) accounted for 12 points and 8 rebounds. Piratas' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Brandon Costner (206-87, college: N.Carolina St.) came up with 25 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized American guard Kyle Vinales (185-92, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: 011 Sports) added 20 points and 5 assists respectively for Humacao in the defeat. Five Piratas and four Humacao players scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Humacao lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Piratas will play against Santeros (#6) in Coamo in the next round. Humacao will play on the road against Cariduros in Fajardo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
