Quarter-Finals Round 3: Aalstar - Mons-Hainaut 81-71

Aalstar completed Euromillions League semifinal picture as they edged Mons-Hainaut in the decisive third game of the series. The game was mostly controlled by Okapi Aalstar. Belfius Mons-Hainaut managed to win second period 19-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Okapi Aalstar made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Okapi Aalstar especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by Belfius Mons-Hainaut helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Vernon Taylor (192-87, college: Troy) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Five Okapi Aalstar players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Chris Jones (188-93, college: Angelo St.) who recorded 14 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and power forward Matt Tiby (203-92, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
