Hapoel Holon got to the winning start of their quarterfinal series against Hapoel Eilat. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-15. But Hapoel Eilat won second period 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Holon made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Hapoel Eilat was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) nailed 28 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and naturalized American forward Joe Alexander (203-86, college: W.Virginia) accounted for 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Hapoel Holon players scored in double figures. American guard Jordan Loyd (193-93, college: Indianapolis) came up with 24 points, 5 assists and 4 steals (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and the other American import forward Eric Griffin (203-90, college: Campbell) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Hapoel Eilat in the defeat.
