Smart Belize Hurricanes celebrated NEBL title. They edged Belize City on the road to sweep the championship series. Hurricanes forced 19 Defenders turnovers and outrebounded them 52-40 including a 40-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Devin Daley scored 35 points (!!!) to lead the charge for the winners and international Brian White (196-95, college: Wesley) chipped in 6 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. American forward Nigel Jones (201-90, college: Talladega) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Jacob Leslie (183-84) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
