Regular Season Round 11: Humacao - Arecibo 69-106

Date: June 4, 2018
The game in Humacao supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Capitanes (9-7) played at the court of 5th ranked Humacao (7-7). Capitanes smashed Humacao 106-69 on Monday. The game without a history. Capitanes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Guard Christian Pizarro (-95, college: Miami Dade CC) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. The former international point guard Denis Clemente (183-86, college: Kansas St.) contributed with 25 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Brandon Costner (206-87, college: N.Carolina St.) answered with 10 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized American guard Kyle Vinales (185-92, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: 011 Sports) added 7 points in the effort for Humacao. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Capitanes maintains second place with 9-7 record having just one point less than leader Bayamon, which they share with Quebradillas. Newly promoted Humacao keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Capitanes will face league's second-placed Piratas in Quebradillas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Humacao will play on the road against Santeros in Coamo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
