Regular Season Round 11: Arecibo - Bayamon 88-96

An interesting game for Vaqueros (11-4) which played road game in Arecibo against second-ranked Capitanes (9-7). First ranked Vaqueros managed to get a 8-point victory 96-88. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Capitanes. American forward Devin Williams (206-94, college: W.Virginia) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Ricky Ledo (201-92, college: Providence) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American-Nigerian Ike Ofoegbu (205-84, college: SMU) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, college: Chicago St., agency: BeoBasket) added 15 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Capitanes. Four Vaqueros and five Capitanes players scored in double figures. Capitanes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vaqueros have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-4 record. Capitanes at the other side keep the second position with seven games lost. They share it with Quebradillas. Vaqueros are looking forward to face Cariduros (#7) in Fajardo in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Capitanes will play on the road against the league's second-placed Piratas (#2) in Quebradillas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
