Real Madrid upset Gran Canaria on the road to sweep the semifinal series. Gran Canaria was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. It was a quality performance for the former international Rudy Fernandez (197-85) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. American-Azerbaijani Jaycee Carroll (188-83) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. The former international Pablo Aguilar (202-89) came up with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Dominican Eulis Baez (201-82, college: W.Illinois) added 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for Gran Canaria in the defeat. Four Real Madrid and five Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
