Important game to mention about took place in Sippy Downs. Third ranked Sunshine CR (7-1) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Rockhampton Rockets (4-4) 83-80 on Saturday evening. Sunshine CR players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Eric McAlister (204-90, college: Stony Brook) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Isaih Tueta (187-91) accounted for 6 points, 6 rebounds and 16 assists for the winning side. American swingman Malcolm Bernard (198-94, college: Xavier) came up with 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Ray Willis (198-89, college: N.C.Central, agency: HMS) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Rockhampton Rockets in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sunshine CR keeps a position of League leader. Rockhampton Rockets at the other side dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. Sunshine CR will play against Sunshine CP (#6) in Cotton Tree in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rockhampton Rockets will play at home against Cairns Marlins and hope to get back on the winning track.
