Regular Season Round 13: Bayamon - Humacao 86-81

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bayamon. First ranked Vaqueros faced 4th placed Humacao. Host Vaqueros (14-4) defeated guests from Humacao (8-9) 86-81. Humacao was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 25-15 charge of Vaqueros, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Ricky Ledo (201-92, college: Providence) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 5 rebounds. Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Vaqueros' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Brandon Costner (206-87, college: N.Carolina St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import point guard Marcus Fillyaw (185-94, college: Ky Wesleyan, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Humacao. Vaqueros have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-4 record. Newly promoted Humacao keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Vaqueros will play against Santeros (#6) in Coamo in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Humacao will play on the road against the league's second-placed Piratas in Quebradillas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
