An exciting game was played in Santo Domingo. Leones SD faced Caneros LR. Host Leones SD (2-1) defeated guests from La Romana (1-2) 83-76. Leones SD forced 19 Caneros LR turnovers. Point guard Yerri Flores (188-96, college: High School, agency: Basket Management Solutions) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Puerto Rican point guard Alexander Abreu (180-91, college: W.Georgia) supported him with 18 points. Four Leones SD players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 8 assists by Mauro Gil did not help to save the game for Caneros LR. Naturalized American forward Bobby Pandy (198-84, college: Tex.A&M-Kingsv.) added 14 points and 13 rebounds for the guests. Caneros LR's coach Tony Ruiz let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Leones SD's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santo Domingo to the arena Soles SD.
