BSN top team - Vaqueros (15-5) added another victory to their record on Thursday. This time they beat sixth ranked Leones (8-12) in Juana Diaz 96-90. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-15. But Leones won third quarter 29-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vaqueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American swingman Ricky Ledo (201-92, college: Providence) notched 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and the former international Javier Mojica (190-84, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: Paris Global Sports) supported him with 21 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots). Even 25 points and 5 rebounds by the former international swingman Angel-Daniel Vassallo (198-86, college: Virginia Tech) did not help to save the game for Leones. American forward Michael Young (206-94, college: Pittsburgh) added 19 points for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Leones' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vaqueros have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-5 record. Leones lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 12 games lost. Vaqueros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Leones will play again against the league's leader Vaqueros (#1) and hope to secure a win.
