Real Madrid overcame Baskonia to even the series at 1-1. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Real Madrid dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Baskonia's 26 and made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Baskonia 38-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Baskonia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Mexican center Gustavo Ayon (207-85, college: San Jose St.) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American-Azerbaijani Jaycee Carroll (188-83) chipped in 16 points during the contest. American guard Matt Janning (195-88, college: Northeastern, agency: Agency) responded with 18 points (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!) and international center Ilimane Diop (210-95) scored 16 points. Five Real Madrid and four Baskonia players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
