There was a minor upset when 3rd ranked Dandenong Rangers (8-5) were edged at home by sixth ranked Bandits (6-7) 90-89 on Sunday. American power forward Lamar Mallory (201-90, college: Glenville St.) fired 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Daniel Sepokas (191-90, college: Lees-McRae) chipped in 21 points. Mallory is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Puoch Puoch produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Lucas Barker (183-93, college: Indianapolis) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Five Bandits and four Dandenong Rangers players scored in double figures. Dandenong Rangers' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bandits moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Dandenong Rangers keep the third position with five games lost. Bandits will face Bendigo Braves (#6) at home in the next round. Dandenong Rangers will play against the league's second-placed Spectres and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
