Mazatlan overwhelmed Los Mochis on the road in Game 1. Lobos UAD Mazatlan looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and the former international forward Michael Lizarraga (200-89, college: CS Northridge) accounted for 20 points and 6 rebounds. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Lobos UAD Mazatlan players scored in double figures. American forward Taylor Johns (201-94, college: Cal-Riverside, agency: Slash Sports) came up with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Stedmon Lemon (198-92, college: Johnson C. Smith) added 23 points and 4 assists respectively for Pioneros Los Mochis in the defeat. Pioneros Los Mochis' coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
