BSN top team - Vaqueros (16-5) managed to deliver another win on Tuesday. This time they beat seventh ranked Leones (8-13) in Juana Diaz 112-99. The game without a history. Vaqueros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Vaqueros outrebounded Leones 37-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Devin Williams (206-94, college: W.Virginia) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Javier Gonzalez (185-89, college: NC State) helped adding 26 points and 7 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Gonzalez is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American forward Michael Young (206-94, college: Pittsburgh) with 22 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Cliff Duran (191-89, agency: Paris Global Sports) scored 20 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vaqueros maintains first place with 16-5 record. Leones lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 13 games lost. Vaqueros will face league's second-placed Piratas in Quebradillas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leones will play on the road against Humacao (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
