Rather predictable result in Coamo where third ranked Capitanes (11-10) smashed 5th ranked Santeros (9-12) 94-70 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Capitanes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great evening for American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. The former international swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) helped adding 25 points. The best for the losing side was forward Owens Perez (203-92) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Josh Powell (206-83, college: NC State) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Capitanes maintains third place with 11-10 record having five points less than leader Bayamon. Loser Santeros keep the fifth position with 12 games lost. Capitanes will have a break next round. Santeros will play again at home against Capitanes (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
