Regular Season Round 5: Leones SD - Indios SFM 115-112

The most exciting game of round 5 in the LNB took place in Santo Domingo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Indios SFM (3-2) to first ranked Leones SD (5-2) 115-112 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Indios SFM. Leones SD looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Indios SFM helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Donte Greene (206-88, college: Syracuse) who scored 22 points. Guard Elpidio Fortuna (188-85, agency: Basket Management Solutions) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Juan-Miguel Suero (198-93) produced 20 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and naturalized Spanish power forward Edward Santana (203-80) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Leones SD and five Indios SFM players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Leones SD have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-2 record. Indios SFM at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Reales LV. Leones SD are looking forward to face Reales LV (#3) in La Vega in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Indios SFM will play at home against Caneros LR and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
