Regular Season Round 7: Caneros Del Este - Reales LV 81-90

The game in La Romana was quite interesting. Third ranked Reales LV (5-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Caneros LR (3-6). Reales LV managed to secure a 9-point victory 90-81 on Monday. Reales LV made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for guard Juan Coronado (193-83) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. American power forward Darian Townes (208-84, college: Arkansas) helped adding 6 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Reales LV players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Keith Appling (185-92, college: Michigan St., agency: Basket Management Solutions) responded with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and naturalized Spanish Orlando Sanchez (206-88, college: St.John's) scored 7 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Reales LV have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Caneros LR at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Titanes Licey. Reales LV are looking forward to face Indios SFM (#4) in San Francisco in the next round. Caneros LR will play on the road against Soles SD in Santo Domingo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
