The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked Eagles' (0-19) home loss to eleventh ranked Wanneroo (5-13) in Morley 59-80 on Friday. Wanneroo forced 20 Eagles turnovers and outrebounded them 48-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Eagles' players. Eagles were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Nikita-Lee Martin (184-88) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Amy Kidner (183, college: N.Colorado) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Wanneroo players scored in double figures. American forward Ladondra Johnson (178, college: Young Harris) answered with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and Eryn Fisher added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Eagles. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wanneroo maintains eleventh place in League with 5-13 record. Loser Eagles still closes the standings with 19 games lost. Wanneroo will have a break next round. Eagles will play at home against Magic (#6) and hope to get finally their first victory.
