Regular Season Round 8: Metros STGO - Indios SFM 83-88

The game in Santiago was quite interesting. Fourth ranked Indios SFM (5-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Metros STGO (2-5). Indios SFM managed to secure a 5-point victory 88-83 on Friday. The best player for the winners was Juan-Miguel Suero (198-93) who scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Naturalized American guard Gerardo Suero (196-89, college: Albany, agency: Basket Management Solutions) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and guard Bernardo Polanco (189-94, agency: Basket Management Solutions) added 19 points respectively for the hosts. Five Indios SFM and four Metros STGO players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Indios SFM moved-up to second place, which they share with Soles SD. Metros STGO lost third consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the third position with five games lost. Indios SFM is looking forward to face Caneros LR (#3) in La Romana in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Metros STGO will play on the road against the league's leader Reales LV in La Vega and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
