Regular Season Round 8: Soles SD - Caneros Del Este 89-98

The game with biggest result difference took place in Santo Domingo. Local Soles SD (5-3) lost to fifth ranked Caneros LR (3-6) 98-89 on Saturday night. Caneros LR made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Caneros LR outrebounded Soles SD 34-19 including a 25-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward James-N White (203-93, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American-Guyanese forward Kedar Edwards (196-93, college: Tenn-Martin) who added 18 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Point guard Jaison Valdez (188-95, agency: Basket Management Solutions) responded with 20 points and power forward Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Five Caneros LR and four Soles SD players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Caneros LR moved-up to third place. Loser Soles SD dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with Indios SFM. Caneros LR will meet at home league's second-placed Indios SFM in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Soles SD will play against Titanes Licey in San Cristobal and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
