The biggest surprise of round 3 in VBA took place in where host Thang Long W. (2-3) beat Saigon Heat (4-2) 69-57 on Sunday evening. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jaywuan Hill (203-89, college: SW Baptist) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. International forward Hung Dang-Thai (189-93) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American Tavarion Nix (201, college: Midwestern St.) who recorded 9 points and 13 rebounds and Danish swingman Tim Waale (193) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Saigon Heat will play next round against Hochiminh CW trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Thang Long W. will try to continue on its current victory against Hanoi B. at home.
