Top ranked Vaqueros (18-6) recorded its sixth loss in Bayamon on Monday night. Hosts were edged by second ranked Piratas (14-9) 79-78. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Piratas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Piratas made 7 blocks. Defending champion maintains second position with 14-9 record having five points less than leader Bayamon. Vaqueros at the other side still keep top place with six games lost. Piratas are looking forward to face Atleticos (#5) in San German in the next round. Vaqueros will play at home against Cariduros (#4) and are hoping to win this game.
