An interesting game for Reales LV (6-4) which hosted in La Vega one of their biggest challengers Caneros LR (4-8). Second ranked Reales LV managed to get a 9-point victory 92-83. Reales LV made 23-of-25 charity shots (92.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Point guard Jose Acosta (185-92, agency: Basket Management Solutions) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized American Antonio Pena (204-86, college: Villanova) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Reales LV players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Keith Appling (185-92, college: Michigan St., agency: Basket Management Solutions) responded with 26 points and 4 assists and forward Juan-Pablo Montas (198-84) scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Reales LV maintains second position with 6-4 record having just three points less than leader Leones SD, which they share with Soles SD. Caneros LR at the other side keeps the third place with eight games lost. Reales LV will play against league's second-placed Soles SD in Santo Domingo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Caneros LR will have a break next round.
