Rather predictable result in Arecibo where third ranked Capitanes (16-11) defeated 6th ranked Leones (12-16) 92-86 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 25-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Capitanes made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points and 6 assists. American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) helped adding 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (201-84, college: Hofstra, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American-Bosnian point guard Alex Renfroe (191-86, college: Belmont, agency: BeoBasket) scored 19 points and 5 assists. Four Leones players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Capitanes have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 16-11 record having four points less than leader Bayamon. Leones at the other side keep the sixth position with 16 games lost. Capitanes will face league's second-placed Piratas in Quebradillas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leones will play on the road against the league's second-placed Piratas (#2) in Quebradillas and hope to win that game.
