Gigantes rallied past Cocodrilos to advance into the semifinal stage. Gigantes outrebounded Cocodrilos 36-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Cocodrilos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import Quinnel Brown (198-83, college: Auburn) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Wendell McKines (198-88, college: N.Mexico St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and the former international forward Lenin Lopez (198-91) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Cocodrilos. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
