There was a minor upset when 4th ranked NW Tasmania Thunder (10-9) lost to seventh ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (7-12) in Ulverstone 91-95 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Diamond Valley Eagles had a 35-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Diamond Valley Eagles made 8 blocks. American forward Mike Best (208-93, college: Cal-Irvine) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Joel Spear (192-94, college: S.Oregon) contributed with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Jeremiah Ingram (201-93, college: N.C.Central) replied with 24 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Lachlan Barker (179-96) added 20 points and 5 assists in the effort for NW Tasmania Thunder. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Diamond Valley Eagles maintains seventh position in League with 7-12 record.
