Everything went according to plan when eleventh ranked Eagles (9-15) defeated 14th ranked Giants (5-19) in Morley 92-79 on Sunday. Eagles made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Giants' players. Swingman Drew Williamson (196-83, college: Metro St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 6 assists. American power forward Jonathan Morse (203-91, college: Metro St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Morse is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American power forward Kyle Sovine (206-94, college: St.Francis, IN) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import swingman Jeylyn Sharpe (194-91, college: Rogers St.) added 19 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Giants. Four Giants players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Eagles maintains eleventh position in League with 9-15 record. Loser Giants keep the fourteenth place with 19 games lost. Eagles will face higher ranked Lightning (#5) in North Lake in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Giants will play at home against Redbacks (#3) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
