Regular Season Round 16: Luoyang - Hefei 120-107

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Hefei (1-14) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Luoyang (7-8) 120-107. Hefei was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 39-22 charge of Luoyang, which allowed them to win the game. They made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Luoyang outrebounded Hefei 49-38 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American-Palestinian forward Michael Nunnally (203-86, college: Pacific) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 23 rebounds and forward Shuai Liu (196-95) supported him with 37 points (!!!) and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 32 points and 10 rebounds by American guard Dwayne Lathan (190-89, college: Indiana St.) did not help to save the game for Hefei. His fellow American import center Eric Thompson (204-93, college: Pacific) added 18 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Four Hefei players scored in double figures. Luoyang moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Henan. Hefei lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Luoyang's next round opponent will be higher ranked Anhui (#4) on the road and it may be quite challenging game.
