Finals Game 5: Obregon - Tijuana 80-99

Tijuana snapped two-game losing skid and beat Obregon on the road to regain the lead in the championship series. The game was mostly controlled by Tijuana Zonkeys. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon managed to win fourth quarter 27-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tijuana Zonkeys made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Tijuana Zonkeys outrebounded Halcones de Ciudad Obregon 39-19 including a 26-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naturalized American swingman Karim Scott (196-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Jimmy Hall (203-94, college: Kent St.) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Ray Rodriguez (185-94, college: FIU) added 19 points in the effort for Halcones de Ciudad Obregon. Five Tijuana Zonkeys and four Halcones de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
