An interesting game for Caneros Del Este (7-9) which hosted in La Romana second-best Leones SD (8-9). Third ranked Caneros Del Este managed to get a 5-point victory 93-88. Caneros Del Este outrebounded Leones SD 42-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Caneros Del Este especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Branden Dawson (198-93, college: Michigan St.) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Naturalized Spanish center Jhonatan Araujo (208-96, agency: Basket Management Solutions) accounted for 10 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Juan Guerrero (201-93, agency: Basket Management Solutions) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and American Ramon Galloway (190-91, college: La Salle) added 13 points and 8 assists respectively for Leones SD in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Leones SD's coach Abraham Disla rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Caneros Del Este have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 7-9 record having just two points less than leader Indios SFM. Loser Leones SD keeps the second position with nine games lost. They share it with Metros STGO.
