Regular Season Round 23: San German - Quebradillas 98-112

No shocking result in a game in San German where third ranked Piratas (20-15) defeated 7th ranked Atleticos (12-20) 112-98 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Piratas. Atleticos was better in fourth quarter 26-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Piratas shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) who scored 32 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). The former international Michael Rosario (190-90, college: Florida) chipped in 33 points (!!!) (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The former international guard Gary Browne (185-93, college: W.Virginia) produced 25 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and American-Portuguese Jeremiah Wilson (205-88, college: Tarleton St.) added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Piratas and five Atleticos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Piratas have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains third place with 20-15 record having just two points less than leader Arecibo. Loser Atleticos keep the seventh position with 20 games lost. Piratas will face league's leader Capitanes in Arecibo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Atleticos will play at home against Humacao (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
